A good time was had by all, with a great cause benefiting, when golfers came together for the 60th annual Spirit of America Golf Classic, sponsored by Daikin.
Local favorite Jackson Mitchell took home the big prize this year, after a second-place finish two years ago. He shot 273 for the tournament.
Mitchell carried a lead going into the final day and refused to give it up. Ben Shedd finished second.
The Spirit of America tourney brings together some of the nation’s best collegiate golfers at Burningtree Country Club each year.
Daikin employees, some of whom are shown here, took part in the Sponsors’ Scramble on Monday, June 22.
The tournament raises money for local non-profit organizations in North Alabama. The final tally will be announced later this fall.
