Following the New Year holiday, many of the food pantry shelves are running low on supplies to give to families-in-need. Eleven years ago, Daikin, and a couple other local industries, created a local food drive program, called the “Barrels of Love” to help restock the shelves that help feed many needy people in our community.
Daikin America has supported the Barrels of Love program since inception. This year our employees donated over 1,000 food items in February. All food was to support our local agencies such as the CCC, Salvation Army and Backpack Program for the local schools.
On March 7th, we took our Daikin employee food donations to Ingalls Harbor Pavilion for the Morgan County collection day. Over 100,000 items were collected and distributed to those in need through this program in March. Thank you to all that supported this event and made a difference in our community.
