Daikin America Contest Inspires Art Masterpieces

Student Artworks in the hallways at Daikin in Decatur.

For twenty-eight years, the Daikin America Art Contest has been inspiring young artists and giving them the tools they need to realize their artistic visions.

Beginning in 1994, Daikin has provided fifth-grade art students in the Decatur School system with canvas, paint, brushes, and other supplies.

Each year the students share their own individual vision illustrating a particular theme. The schools deliver their students’ masterpieces to Daikin’s Decatur facility, where they are displayed in the lobby for all to enjoy.

Daikin Decatur employees then vote on their favorites, selecting a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place winner. Winners each receive a plaque.

The 1st place winning class receives a pizza party and cake.

All eleven schools receive a cake and Daikin’s sincere appreciation for their participation.

And every piece of student art is displayed for the public to enjoy at the company’s annual Japanese festival.
