Giving Special Needs Citizens the Opportunity to Play

Last year the ribbon was cut for the Daikin Field of Dreams at Sparkman School. Designed and created expressly for the purpose of giving those in the community with special needs the chance to play softball on a real diamond, the field has enjoyed a lot of use since it debuted in April of 2022.

Operated by the Home Runs and Family Fun Softball League, the Field of Dreams is open to anyone age four and up. Most players, come from Morgan County schools, but some adults have also enjoyed taking part.

Games are held every Monday in April and May.

DecaturDaily.com recently reported on the league and how it’s giving special needs families a welcome outlet for fun and recreation.
